ABOUT THE CLUB

Welcome to the Ongar Town Football Club Website.

The website brings you all the Town news, results, fixtures and stats.

Ongar joined the Essex Olympian Football League in 1968. Renamed as Ongar Town in 1970.

Ongar left the EOFL in 1997 when they decided that the team at the time was simply too young and was not good enough to compete. During their 29 year stay their most notable achievement was finishing as runners up in the Essex Intermediate Cup Final of 1995.

Therefore, reluctantly, Ongar left the Olympian Football League and joined the Mid Essex Football League in 1998. As newcomers to the league Ongar were put into Division 4 initially but as the team grew and new players were added to the squad Ongar gained promotion through 4 Divisions eventually finishing as Runners Up in the Premier League in the 2004 2005 season.

During this last season in the Mid Essex League Ongar also won the League Cup and were Runners Up in the Dave Strachan Cup.

Ongar were then accepted back into the Baliston Olympian Football League for the 2005 2006 season, and in their first season finished as Champions of Division 3 gaining promotion. They also reached the final of the Denny King Memorial Cup losing out to Epping.
